Catholic Identity

St Matthew’s is a school established in the tradition of the Mercy Sisters and the charism of Matthew, the convert. We understand education as being centred in the person of Jesus Christ, developed through a Catholic world view and distinguished by academic excellence in all subject areas. We pride ourselves on our Catholic identity that is sustained by the Gospel message.

Catholic Social Teaching forms the basis of our dedication to Social Justice awareness and action. Organisations we support annually through building awareness and fundraising include:

  • Caritas Australia
  • St Vincent De Paul Society
  • Catholic Missions
